as the title says.
i would like to see the krootox gun become more effectiv, ie becoming heavy 1 or 2 rather than rapid fire. also, the addition of some of the forge world stuff would be cool. obviously the rail rifle will be included in the codex as well. maybe battlesuits can get the option to use them, that would be good. another cool thing would be a flying breed of kroot.
a couple more vehicle upgrades would be good. imperial armies have loads, and the tau are more advanced than the imperials are.

Not having a copy of the Tau codex myself, I wouldn't know, but surely the increased technology level would be presentin the standard stats ?

Slightly off topic, there was one thing they missed out in the tyranid codex and that was a tau-ish creature. They've done humans (Genestealers), Eldar (Zoanthropes, sp?) and Orks (Biovores). Of course, there could have been loads of candidates for that sort of thing, but it would have been interesting to see...
Back on topic; from an outside point of view it seems that tau lack in portable heavy weapons. Sure, the rail rifle probably has the calibre to almost count as one, but it seems that they have just that; a few variations of the basic rifle.
It would be possible to have the portable burst cannon akin to the ones in Firewarrior in normal firewarrior squads, but I wouldn't be surprised if it wasn't included as stealth suits have whole squads of them!
There's speculation that there'll be other races added to the book along with the kroot. Whether this is true or not I cannot say, but it would be great to see some of the Inquisitor fluff expanded on like the hrud and a few other ones that haven't made a tabletop appearance yet.
Either that or they would feature in Alien Hunters, who knows...
On the model side of thing though, they should sort out the krootox. I've heard people say how hard it is to put one together!
Other than that I wouldn't know what else to add/change etc, again because I haven't got the book...

another good thing wuld be the addition of human auxillaries to the list. they would be good. the author of the new codex has said in an interview that he has no intention of adding new weapons to fire warrior teams, he said doign that would make them too imperial like.

another thing i'd like to see is rules for tau forces from different planets, ie ones that have developed different fighting styles to fight a certain foe. instead of that, maybe a doctrine system or something. tau must have developed styles of warfare that are better against certain enemies.

Being as they are still a relatively new race, and thus quite small, I imagine that they would all still be very similar. If they were a little older, larger, and more spread out then I could see this happening.

I've seen a preview of the Vespids (sp?) that will become part of the army, and they are looking very good!
They've got wings and these funny looking pulse carbines (well, when I say funny, it's not that I dislike them, but they are far from the norm). The way they've painted them, their armour is a sort of metallic blue. I'll have a link up soon.
One little change I'd like to see (whether it would be possible or not, we shall have to see) is Pathfinders being able to take the devilfish as an option rather than it being compulsory and perhaps make them infiltrate if they don't come with it.

yeah, that would be good. it would be good if the pathfinders wrent the only ons to use a rail rifle. its a heavy weapon, and they are supposed to be light, fast moving troops. they dont fit together at all. it should be available to battlesuits. pics of those vespids would be great as well. pathfinders should also have a 5+ save. they wear much less armour than other tau, you can see that clearly on the models. infiliration would be a good addition for them.

forums.tauonline.org/index.php?topic=11957.0this link is shows some pretty nice new stuff in the pics on it. plastic broadsides! kroot bird, vespids and new battlesuit poses are the new things there, as well as the 40k scale manta! its looking very good the vespids aren't armed with carbines. it must be some specific weapon for their race. remember, this is "tau empire" not "tau" now.

Well, carbine was the closest thing that compared to it in appearance. I knew they were going to be something else. Most of what I know I've got from the WarSeer forums (successor of the late Portent).
Looking at the poses I'm guessing the Vespids are metal. They have that 2-D 3-D look about them that most metal models have (by 2-D I mean the poses are kind of flat, if you get what I mean...)

yeah, i know. GW make them like that because they dont want to have to spend loads on packaging and stuff. i agree, those vespids probably will be metal, though it would be better if they were all plastics though.

I'd like to see GW go al-plastic. Much easier to work with, much easier to model with, and the paint doesn't need varnishing - my metal Cadians lose paint to tissue-paper

i agree, that would be great! it would be so much cheaper, they could make more pieces for leaders and stuff for cheaper prices. what a difference. they would probably increase the prices agin anyway due to the lack of income coming in through blister packs.

Plastic blisters ? If you look at the new range of plastics (between 3 and 5 models for a smaller price, used to finish off units that are missing men without having too many spare) it's be quite similar - bigger blisters.

and they could make weapons sprues, with like 8 differednt close combatr weapons etc, for converting, and put them in blisters. or boxes with like 8 ccws, 8 hand guns, 8 guns etc.

And, like has been said above, it would open up hundreds of new conversion opportunities. Has anyone seen the new Cadian range from Forgeworrld ? THey could do similar things in plastic for those of us who have no money

those things are awesome! things like that are great for making armies more unique, and makes life a lot easier for those of us who cant convert either
